Home Sweet Home?

Ciao mi amici! Or I should probably say Hello my friends! - People tend to get irritated when you talk about your summer abroad aka the best experience of your life. Honestly, most people don't really care with the exception of family and very good friends.  Anywho, the study abroad pre-departure meetings did warn us about this. They call it 'reverse culture shock'. Boy, am I going through that or what. I have been home for a month now and all I want to do is go back. Don't get me wrong I love my family and friends and have loved catching up with everyone, but Italy stole my heart and who knows when I'll get another chance to go back to get it... I also really miss all the friends I made. It is pretty hard going from spending all day everyday with these amazingly funny and wonderful people to just texting them here and there. The great thing about our friendships is that they are going to last a lifetime because they were there experiencing everything with you. We will never get bored reliving our summer. I could talk about gelato, pizza, colosseo, metros, buses, cobblestones, gypsies, saldi, via del corso, 'the mirror', creepy men, Italian fashion (obvi), the smell of leather, and everything else pertaining to Rome/Italy. Wow. That list just made me really sad. I am blessed that I was able to meet some fellow Aggies this summer. So, when I get super bummed I can call them up and go to 'the' Olive Garden and reminisce over some good ole' American fettucini alfredo :)! I already ran into Caroline this past weekend and we basically only talked about how the tomatoes here aren't very good. Others may think that we are dumb but it made so much sense to us.

I have been meaning to post a final LaLa in Italia blog for a while now. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you want to look at it, this won't be my last one. I have a bunch of pictures I still need to upload and share with you (my loyal fans). However, I forgot to bring my cord that connects my memory card to my computer to College Station - a typical Laura move. I will have to post more this weekend. I'm going to Austin to my second new favorite place in the world, The Hargroves. That is where Bambino lives. Look at him. Wouldn't you go all the time if you were me?

Well, arrivederci :).
