It used to be Colosseo Tuesday, but I lost my Peroni buddy(aka Chels) and had to change the name - I really miss those days. So, I decided to do something about it and hit up the Colosseum after school. My after school crew (Sarah, Julie, and Kristen) came with me! We hit up the Jewish Ghetto first for some lunch. We decided to take advantage of the pretty day and walk over to the Colosseo. They stayed with me for a little bit, but then they had to head home to get some stuff done. I decided to stay back to do some journaling (I don't usually do that because I write my adventures here) and to take a bunch of pictures.

Rainy day at the Pantheon...
Ciao famiglia e amici!
Yesteray was a pretty neat day - even class wasn't all that bad. I had to give a presentation about the differences between Plutarch and Shakespeare's Julius Caesar? It wasn't too bad. I definitely could have worked on it a little harder considering I was supposed to present the day before but I played hooky instead... Anyways, it went pretty well. My professor seemed to enjoy it as much as he could with what I gave him. It was a pretty slow class though. Everyone was kind of in a quiet mood and I explained to our prof that it was because it was ugly outside and about to rain. He laughed at my explanation, but I still believe that is why we were all in a funk.
After class Sarah, Meha, Julie, Kristen and I went to my favorite 4,00 euro pizzeria, The Mirror. I don't really know why I like it so much...maybe my friend Meha knows? :).
Well, why we were taking our time to eat it started pouring outside. This is a very rare occasion here in Rome and of course it happens on the day I wanted to go out and do stuff. BUT- along with all of Rome's little speed bumps comes it's greatness. I remember that our tour guide (back from May 17th) told us if we ever get the chance to see the Pantheon in the rain then we should take full advantage - because like I said it is a rare occasion. The big deal is that the Pantheon's dome has a hole in the middle, so when it rains it falls right into the middle of the church. So, as we say in Italiano, "andiamo" (we go!, it is our favorite word). Here are some pictures. I tried to capture the rain pouring in, but it wasn't working out too well.
The Pantheon. *sigh*
Then we headed to the Spanish Steps to do a little window shopping. The saldi is almost over, so we need to really decide what we can and can't live without. For me, it is always a can't situation :).
After were window shopped our hearts out, I went wandering alone and came across Piazza Novana. Funny how I had now idea what this was when I first uploaded pictures. Now Piazza Novana is a central location for me AND I can easily say that the second photo is the Fountain of the Four Rivers by Bernini!
As I was casually walking home I stopped to take some pictures of the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo. I didn't get carried away at all playing with my camera...

Rock in Roma
After our adventure in Tarquinia, a few of us went to the Rock in Roma shindig to see Jack Johnson. Boy, was he great! I forgot how much I love him. He spoke in Italian in between songs and talked about his wife (they have been together for 17 years). Here are some pictures. I have a couple videos but they take too long to post. I'm supposed to be writing my paper about The Merchant of Venice. Gosh, how I hate how school is getting in the way of my life. Why am I doing an extra year?
The aftermath of the concert is kind of a blur. We were under the impression that there would be countless cabs outside the concert area. We were wrong. Cabs were no where to be found. Long story short, it took us about an hour to hail down two cabs to take us back to Prati. It ended up costing us 12 euros each which wasn't all that bad considering we were so far away. Julie mentioned getting cornetti after we got back, but we were all pretty tired and defeated after the cab incident. However, once I got home all I could think about was that cornetto (or cornetti*) oozing with nutella...
*Cornetti is plural. They don't use 's' here - o changes to i and a changes to e. Just a little Italian lesson for y'all.
