Today's Shakespeare class was held at the Roman Forum and Colosseo. There wasn't really any connection made by my professor except about Julius Caesar - but that is a given (he was buried in the Forum). It was amazing as always though. I loved just wandering around the Forum and Colosseo without having to listen to a lecture or headset. Those tours sometimes get in the way of just being. You aren't able to marvel at their beauty with a history lesson in the background. Later, I met up with Julie, Kristen, Meha, and Sarah at the Villa Borghese Galleria to admire the Bernini sculptures and Caravaggio paintings. Don't I sound smart? Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take any pictures, so you will have to use your imagination. Then Julie and I made our way to Termini to purchase our tickets for our day trip tomorrow. Boy, was that an adventure. The self service machines were going a tad slow. There was absolutely nothing we could do about it but the man behind us sure thought differently. He was huffing and puffing like a little child at Home Depot. Kid you not. It was just ridiculous. I may or may not have "shouted" an italian phrase at him once we finally finished. It was not the most lady like thing to do but when in Rome...
I'm so excited about this weekend. It is definitely jam packed with adventure. Tomorrow is my day trip/date with Julie. We got the cheapest tickets, so we will be leaving at 6:00 and getting back to Rome at 0:48. That should be fun. We actually have to be at Piazza Trilussa at 9:00 on Saturday because API is taking us to Tarquinia for a bike riding, wine tasting, and sun bathing filled day. Then Saturday night a bunch of us are going to the Jack Johnson concert here in Rome! I'm really excited about that! I don't really listen to Jacky Jack as much as I used to back in high school but I think it will be great. Going to a concert in Rome is on my to do list, so this was the perfect opportunity! Well, here are a few pictures from today. Enjoy!
Roman Forum.
I just love this place. I know that the history of this place is actually terrible, but it is just fascinating - and not to mention beautiful.
This is my Shakespeare class. It isn't quite this small, we have three more people. They decided to play hooky. Stinks though because in a class this small you get caught.
